"Ganga Vilas," the World's Longest River Cruise, Scheduled to Reach Assam Tomorrow

Guwahati: The Ganga Vilas, the world's longest river cruise, departed from Varanasi and is set to arrive in Assam's Dhubri district on Friday, with plans to continue its journey as scheduled. The cruise was inaugurated by the Prime Minister via virtual means on January 13, 2023, and is expected to arrive in Dibrugarh on March 1, 2023, covering approximately 3200 km via the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol route.

The Ganga Vilas will spend 13 days in Assam before reaching Dibrugarh, having already passed through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Kolkata, and Bangladesh. The vessel has three decks, 18 suites, and can accommodate 36 tourists, offering all the amenities of luxury travel. Thirty-two Swiss tourists have already signed up for the entire journey, according to officials.
