Guwahati: The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) in Guwahati has issued a directive to ensure the peaceful conduct of the 2022 Assam Public Service Commission Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination, which is set to take place on March 26 at various centres across the city. The DCP has expressed concern over the possibility of unscrupulous individuals trying to disrupt the examination process, which could cause harm to people or create a disturbance. In response, the DCP has taken preventive measures to ensure the safety of all involved.
In a notification issued by the DCP, it was stated that there is every possibility of unscrupulous elements resorting to unfair means to disturb the process in and around the examination centres, which is likely to create obstruction, annoyance or injury to any person lawfully employed, or danger to human life, health or safety, or a disturbance of the public tranquillity, or a riot, or an affray. To prevent any such untoward incidents, the DCP has used their powers under section 144 of the CrPC to prohibit the assembly of more than five people, demonstrations, processions, agitation, and shouting of slogans near the examination centres and within 100 meters of them in Guwahati.
Aspirants taking the exam have been advised to cooperate with the authorities and strictly abide by the guidelines to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. The notification stated that those who violate the promulgation will be punished under the relevant law provisions.
