Assam Chief Minister Announces Free Medical Services Worth Rs 5 Lakh for Ration Card Holders

Guwahati: Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, recently announced several initiatives during his visit to Rangia. One of the key announcements was the provision of free medical services worth up to Rs 5 lakh per year for families holding ration cards. The benefits of this scheme will be available under both the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Scheme and the Mukhya Mantri Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

The Chief Minister also addressed the issue of families without ration cards and stated that the state government would provide them with one this year. This move would ensure that such families can access free rice and pulses under the National Food Security Act. The government's aim is to ensure food security for all residents of the state.

Furthermore, CM Sarma promised to provide houses to beneficiaries belonging to a poor financial background under the Mukhya Mantri Awaas Yojana. The move comes in response to complaints from people who did not receive houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana. The scheme will ensure that each beneficiary belonging to the poor financial background will receive one house.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for various infrastructure projects worth Rs 545.19 crore during his visit. The projects are expected to boost the development of the state and create job opportunities for the people.
